at cape cod community college, it is our privilege to assist veterans in taking advantage of the numerous educational opportunities available through the gi bill® and other programs. regardless of whether you are a new student, a returning student or transferring to our campus from another institution, we are here to help you find the resources you need to make the most out of your time at 4cs.

4cs veterans center

cape cod community college military and veteran students are encouraged to take advantage of the newly renovated 4cs veterans center. located on the second floor of the wilkens library, the veterans center offers a relaxing environment for veterans to study, network, or grab a cup of coffee in between classes.

Student Veterans of America logothe student veterans of american at cape cod community college helps provide support to veterans enrolled at cape cod community college in their pursuit of education through a collaboration of veterans, students, faculty, school, and government resources. the veteran support group is a recognizable symbol with which students can relate to each other and increase the public’s general awareness of the cultures, social background, and barriers of the veteran and military community.

weekly meetings of the the student veterans of american at cape cod community college, a student veteran-run organization, are held in the veterans center as well.

educational assistance

veterans of recent military service, and the dependents of certain other service members, may be entitled to educational assistance payments from the veterans administration. reservists and members of the national guard may also be eligible for monthly educational benefits. cape cod community college is an approved institution for veterans and veterans' beneficiaries training.

cape cod community college will adhere to the requirements of and comply with s2248 pl 115-407 section 103.

Veterans seeking assistance for Advising should contact John Alexander in the Military & Veterans Services Office: 774.330.4478

students with specific questions regarding GI Bill®/military benefits should contact the Military & Veterans Services Office at 774.330.4478 or the financial aid office at 774.330.4391.

the military veteran services advisor can offer the following assistance about the va benefits and information to veterans:

  • help with applying for chapter 30, chapter 33/ post 9/11, chapter 1606, chapter 1607, and chapter 35. once students apply and get their certificate of eligibility, the hours will be submitted to the va for payment processing.
  • assist with kickers, which are paid to national guard/reserves.
  • evaluate military credit for college credit

military leave (active duty)

federal law and regulations protect active duty, guard and reserve military personnel who are called up to active duty for deployment during the term in which they are enrolled at a post-secondary education institution. according to these regulations, student whose education was interrupted by voluntary or involuntary military service has the right to readmission. these regulations also apply to students who receive orders to permanent change of station (pcs) and students who enlist in a regular component of the armed forces. for more information regarding this law, please use the link to 34 code of federal regulations (c.f.r.) section 668.18, effective as of july 1, 2010.
